TPD2S300: CC OVP detatch

Part Number: TPD2S300
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD6S300,

Hello all,

In the datasheet for the TPD6S300 there is a section 9.2.2.5 detailing the FLT pin, where it mentions it passes the FLT signal to a PD controller or implies that the TPD6S300 can force a detach - my question is does the TPD2S300 have the same functionality?

In other words will the 2S300 force a detach if there is an OVP event?

Thanks,

Fraser

  • Hello,

Please refer to the overvoltage protection section of the timing requirements.  You can see in the TPD6S300 minimum time of 21ms to force a detach in the event of an OVP event (this is only recommended for UFP).  The TPD2S300 is typically around 30-200us and requires using the /FLT pin.

In other words will the 2S300 force a detach if there is an OVP event?

No.  The 2S300 will not force a detach.

    Regards,
    Chris
