SN75110A: Replacement solution for legacy differential bus driver.

Part Number: SN75110A

Per TI Product Discontinuation Notice 20230516001.3, the SN75110AD is going obsolete and has a last time buy date of Nov 2023. A legacy interface product my team is working on uses this device to communicate with legacy equipment on a party-line (multi-node) bus. TI recommends SN65C1167ENSR as a replacement, but this device doesn't support the same drive characteristics (constant-current, low/tristate differential) as the SN75110A. One option I have is to use the military package (different package form factor, higher cost), which would require a significant respin of  the system due to change in package size. Does TI (or anyone) have a part that operates more similarly to the SN75110A? Desired characteristics:

  • Differential Output
  • Outputs either tristate or drive low (12 mA constant current)
  • Outputs capable of driving below ground (the SN75110A did this using a -5V rail)
  • Similar propagation delay characteristics
  • Similar common mode characteristics
  • Enable/disable control
  • Similar package size (SOIC-14)
  • Ideally, same pinout (though I don't expect this is realistic)
