DS90UB928Q-Q1: How to pair with both UB925 and UR905

Part Number: DS90UB928Q-Q1

UB928 is said to be working with both UB925 and UR905. While we got it to work with UB925, we have not been able to get output when it's paired with UR905. Besides MODE_SEL pin voltage, is there anything else to change? Also, when we need to switch between inputs from UB925 and UR905, do we power down UB928 by pulling PDB low before powering it back up with MODE_SEL pin voltage at around 2.075V?

  • Hi Wei,

What is the desired PCLK? Note that the DS90UB928Q-Q1 is backward compatible to the DS90UR905Q serializer with 15 MHz to 65 MHz PCLK frequencies supported. As you know, this backward compatibility configuration is provided through the MODE_SEL pin or programmed through the device control registers. (0x23) A PDB reset or power-cycle is required to re-latch the device into new operating mode if MODE_SEL voltage has changed.

    Best,

    Josh
