Hi,
Does TMDS1204 need boot code or an I2C configuration register table ? or is it sufficient to use the Hardware strap pin settings shown in the diagram?
Thanks!
Jeff

Jeff,
You can either use the TMDS1204 in either pin strap mode or I2C mode. The pin settings may vary depending upon the application but the Figure 9-10 is an example of a possible pin-strap configuration for the TMDS1204.

Hi Zach,
Below is block diagramm, for daughter board redriver schematic, I have two questions as below.
1. AC capacitor should be place close to mainboard or daughter?(HDMI connector on daughter board) or AC capacitor should both place on main board and daughter board.
2. 499ohm resistor should be place close to mainboard or daughter?
Thanks!
Jeff
Hello, Jeff,
You only want the AC caps on the output of the TMDS1204.
Your daughter card diagram look like Figure 8-3 of the datasheet. Therefore, if using AC-coupled TX mode (AC_EN = high) in an HDMI source application then an external 499 Ω pull-down to GND must be placed on each OUT pin of TMDS1204 (OUT_D2:0p/n and OUT_CLKp/n) between the AC-coupling capacitor and the HDMI receptacle. The purpose of the 499 Ω resistor is to set the common mode voltage to HDMI compliant levels.
Thanks,
Zach
