DS90UB914A-Q1: Does DS90UB914A-Q1 work with DS90UB933-Q1?

Hi Zoe,

The serializer on the camera is 933, and the deserializer on the ECU is 914. The I2C data cannot be transmitted from 914 to 933 correctly, 8 out of 100 products have the above issues. But these "defective" 933 cameras can work with 934 ECU. So, are there any registers in TI914 that are not configured correctly?

Would you be able to elaborate on how the I2C communication is behaving? Was the only change in the system set up the 914 ECU to the 934 ECU?

Is there lock or a loss of lock between the 933 and the 914?

It's LOCK between the 933 and the 914.

The I2C data received by 933 is different from the data sent by 914 when the system is running.

Add a message: I2C communication is normal after disconnecting the POC.

Thank you for the clarification! Can you share a schematic of the 933 and 914 for review purposes? Has the PoC solution been verified to meet the Channel Specifications and PoC noise requirements of the devices?

 Here is another question: Why are the I2C clock frequencies different between TI933 and TI914? TI914 is 37KHz and TI933 is about 71KHz.

The I2C clock frequencies of the DS90UB933 and DS90UB914 have the same timing specifications for SCL and SDA. On the 914 and 933, I2C settings can be configured in register 0x0F through 0x12. The frequency of the I2C lines may be changing due to the pull up resistor on the SCL and SDA signals. For more information on selecting the correct pull-up resistor value, please refer to the following Application Note: "I2C Bus Pullup Resistor Calculation, SLVA689"

Do you have access to the Channel Specifications documents? The insertion loss parameter appears to be violated at the higher frequency bands however it is difficult to verify the channel specification requirements are met through the attachments provided. The channel specifications pertain to the entire transmission channel. Additionally, would you be able to clarify the input video parameters (PCLK, horizontal and vertical resolution, data type, and frame rater) as well as the link rate between the two devices?
