We are developing a product and want to use the DS90UB635-Q1 serializer and a DS90UB638-Q1 Deserializer.

I have a few questions but a lot of them can be answered by their EVM schematics and i can't find them on your website. Are they available?

It would also be very handy to have an EVM that we could use when bringing up our boards.

Yes, i am looking for TI EVM schematics for the DS90UB635-Q1 serializer and a DS90UB638-Q1 Deserializer. I do not see anything about them on the TI website.

Hi Doug,

You will need to look at the DS90UB953A/DS90UB954 EVM which is the same family (links below). The user guide will include the schematic.

When you order the EVM, you will need to replace the DS90UB953A/DS90UB954 device with the correct devices DS90UB635/DS90UB638.

I am checking for the availability of those EVMs.

I assume that you meant to say

DS90UB635

DS90UB638

Not DS90UB938.

Glenn,

The Users guide, for the DS90UB954-Q1EVM, states that it will communicate with the DS90UB635-Q1. Does this mean that we should be able to communicate with a DS90UB954-Q1EVM with our DS90UB635-Q1? Is the reverse also true?

I am not sure how quickly we can locate the EVMs with the 635/638 on them and we are looking at other alternatives, including buying the EVM and replacing the Ser/Des IC with the appropriate 635/638.

Yes, they can but would suggest making sure you get the correct devices that will be used in the actual system.
