TXB0108DQSR replacement

hi I am trying to use TXB0108DQSR to voltage level translate and drive 20 SPI devices. It turns out that the signal performance drops due to parasitic capacitance.

Is there any other recommendation that can work from 1V8 to 3V3 and at same time drive 20 devices. Or it is better to seperate into two groups. Thanks!

Hey Cheng,

Could you confirm you are driving SPI devices and not QSPI? If so, devices like TXU0304 or the AXC4T774 (also provide buffering, so it will help redrive the signals that have poorer performance) will work here. Note that you may need to separate into different groups due to all the devices + channels in the system.

Hi Jack, thanks for the reply.

Yes I am driving SPI devices. Txb0108DQSR has auto direction sensing capability. Is that the reason why its driving capability is so poor?

Hey Cheng,

Your understanding is correct- this device is referenced as a "weak-buffer" because it will be strong to hold the output high or low during DC state, but weak enough such that the input can be re-driven from the output back into the input. Because of this, the device is able to achieve auto- direction sensing.
