THVD8000: R output in tristate when MODE=1 (TX) ?

Part Number: THVD8000

Hi,

I'd like to control the digital side of the THVD8000 with just two wires, so connect R and D pins together, and select the direction using MODE. This requires the R output entering high-impedance mode when MODE=1.  Of course, my microcontroller also changes direction accordingly.

The data sheet contains a row defining I(OZ), "Receiver high impedance output current", but here the "test conditions" are defined as "... Mode = 0". This confuses me. The receiver output can't be in high impedance mode with MODE=0.

So does the R output enter high impedance mode in transmit mode, set by MODE=1 ?
