DP83TD510E: Connecting 2 PHYs does not work

Hello,

I am trying to connect 2 510E's to communicate.

I am using the following hardware:
PC <-> DP83TD510E-EVM <-> Custom Board with 510E

When I use this setup the link LED of my custom board blinks while the link LED of the EVM stays off.

However I confirmed that both devices work using another eval board from Analog Devices.
Using their board I get a connection through the 510E-EVM and I also get a connection to my custom board.

Is there anything I need to watch out for when connecting two 510E's together, am I missing something?

    Hi Jan,

    Did you follow the instructions from the DP83TD510-EVM User's Guide? Section 2.3 Board Setup Out of Box.

    Do you have MDC/MDIO access to read the registers from the PHY? Could you give us a Register dump 0x01-0x1F for both the EVM and the 510 on your custom board?

    If you have two EVMs, could you to try an EVM <-> EVM connection?

    How long and what kind of cable are you using to connect from the EVM to your customer board?
