TLIN1021A-Q1: Total current consumption during SLEEP MODE (sleep current + Leakages)

Hi TI,

We are checking the total max sleep current of this device during sleep mode. Can you please confirm if my calculations are correct:

Isup = 16uA

LIN leakage current = 5uA

INH leakage current = 0.5uA

WAKE leakage current = 25uA

Total = 46.5uA

are my calculations correct?

    The leakages for INH/LIN/WAKE center around zero leakage. The additional consideration I'd look at is the state of TXD during sleep mode. If something is holding TXD to 5 V during sleep mode, then you'd see some current dissipation across the 350 kΩ(typ) pull-down resistor. However, if this is left floating, you'd see very little leakage.

    If INH = 0 V, there is not a significant path to GND (since this is just an internal pull-up to supply), so there shouldn't be much at all.

    The specifications for leakage in the data sheet are worst-case guarantees but would not be expected to be seen in a real system.

    For the WAKE worst-case, this is assuming a held 1 V standoff from either VSUP or GND (see the Test Conditions column). If left floating you would see very close to zero leakage.

    The main consideration of leakage (other than TXD) would be the leakage into the supply pin.

    Thank you for the prompt response. Therefore, what you're trying to say is we should only consider the Isup sleep current = 16uA? and during worst case conditions, are my assumptions correct?
