Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9554
I need the “lifecycle” on the PCA9554PWR (16bit I/O Expander)..if Marketing can help comment..even better.
We have a few programs, and want to make sure this device will be around, and not go EOL on us.

Hi David,
We can't officially state devices won't go EoL indefinitely. I spoke with marketing and they do suggest moving to our newest version of this device (software compatible and pin to pin as well, no changes required to use) the TCA9554. EDIT: The TCA versions of our IO expanders are generally more cost competitive as well and fix bugs/issues seen in the older PCA variants.
We did issue a PCN for this device in 2021 which stated that the PCA9554PW will be moved to a newer die (TI is retiring old process technologies for the newer 300mm wafer technologies). So I would expect this device to not go EoL in the short term if volume for PCA9554PWs sustain or increase.
Long term, we suggest TCA9554 or moving to our newer TCAL family devices.
