Hi,

       We use two TI947 to output 2 video in CMS system.The each  video resolution is 1080p@60fps.The distance between the display and the CMS ECU is about 3 meters.Please recommend a suitable Deserializer.

    1.The LVDS0 and LVDS1 channel of soc can combine.Is there a chip that can replace two TI947?

    Over FPD-Link III, there are no suitable devices for this design that can replace the two 947s with just one serializer and still send two different signals.

    2.Please recommend a suitable Deserializer

    Based on the information provided, a suitable deserializer for this design would be the DS90UB948-Q1

    If the distance between the ECU and the display is 3 meters, which kind of cable should I choose? STP or COAX?

    While it is true that it is more appropriate to use coaxial cables over STP in long distance scenarios due to their lower insertion loss per unit length, that typically does not become a relevant factor until the distances begin reaching lengths of 100 or more meters. In this particular instance, the magnitude of attenuation loss over a 3 meter span should be quite small and would not be significant enough to choose coaxial cables over STP. 

    With that in mind, since the 947 supports both STP and coaxial, either would work in this situation. Choosing one over the other depends on what you prioritize in the design of your system. Coaxial cables tend to have the cost advantage over STP. On the other hand, STP's differential nature helps reduce EMI when compared to single-ended coaxial cables. 

    In summary, if you are aiming to lower the cost of your design, coaxial cables would be the better option. If you are focusing on reducing EMI emission, STP would be the better option.

    In addition to the lvds interface, our chip also has a mipi-dsi interface.The mipi-dsi has four lanes,and each lane supports up to 2.5Gbps.So we can output two 1920*1080@60fps  videos.Is there any serializer supports such mipi-dsi input and can output 2 fpd-link.

    The DS90UB941AS-Q1 serializer aligns best with what is proposed in option 2. The 941AS features dual DSI links, with each link having 4 lanes and 1 clock. It can support inputs of up to 1.5 Gbps per lane.

    The 948 deserializers recommended above are compatible with both the 947 serializers utilized in option 1 and the 941AS serializers proposed for option 2.

    Our soc only have one MIPI-DSI port(4 lane).According to the 941's specification, its pixel clock of fpd-link can only support 105M(Single link) or 210M(Dual link).We need output two 1920*1080@60fps  videos. pixel clock:1920*1080*60=124.4M,and 124.4M > 105M.

    So the 941 can  be choiced in option 2?

    Given the size of the two displays, there are no serializers that are capable of concurrently outputting two videos at 1080@60. The 941AS is the serializer that comes closest, but it would require changes to one or both video outputs in order to correctly function to meet the PCLK requirements.

    With that in mind, option 1 is the more suitable route to pursue when taking into consideration the size of your video outputs.
