TUSB320LAI: Question about operation of TUSB320LAI when the device is used with TPS2553.

Hello guys,

One of my customers is evaluating TUSB320LAI to change their new product USB connector to Type-C(USB-2.0).
At this moment, they have the following questions. Could you please give me your reply?

Q1. They use TUSB320LAI as host side with TPS2553.
But when TUSB320LAI operates as device side, TUSB320 behavior is unexpected because 5V is supplied via TPS2553.
Do you know what is the cause?

Q2. Do you have any more recommended device than TUSB320LAI?

Q1: You need to use inverted ID pin to control TPS2553. In DFP, ID is high until an UFP is attached then ID goes low and turn on TPS2553.

in UFP, ID always high and TPS2553 should be off.

Q2: if you need to control USB3 mux, you need DIR of TUSB321.
