TPD3S713-Q1: TPD3S713-Q1 Design Issue.

Part Number: TPD3S713-Q1

Dear Sir:

Regarding the TPD3S713-Q1 Design Issue.

There are some questions as below.

Please check to reply us asap.

Thanks a lot.

The TPD3S713-Q1 is used on the End Equipment ( Navigation Modules ) .

1. No use the VBUS USB connector

The voltage of BUS (PIN15 ,16) uses the other external power 5V Source.

Is it correct?

2.

2. The TPD3S713-Q1 is used on the End Equipment ( Navigation Modules ) .

It is client mode.

Is it correct?

3. The Client mode.

PIN9 (INT1) = Low, INT1 connects to pull down Resistor 10Kohm to GND. Is it OK?

PIN8 (ILIM_SEL) = Low, ILIM_SEL connects to pull down Resistor 10Kohm to GND.

Is it OK?

4. The Client mode.

PIN8 (ILIM_SEL) = Low.

PIN19 (ILIM_LO) : RILIM_LO = 80.6 Kohm , Is it OK?

PIN20 (ILIM_HI) : NC( NO CONNECTION) = Floating. Is it ok?

  • Hi Vincent,

Below are my comments, thank you.

1, Yes, you mean you want to use the client mode? Then you need to add the external power in the VBUS pin.

    2, Yes.

    3, It is ok.

4, It is ok, but I recommend you preserve a resistance in the ILIM_HI, if you want to use the normal mode, then you can use it.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno

  • Hi Vincent,

For our device, if you use the client mode, we will keep the data switch is ON, but the power switch will be OFF, then our input 5V is active, but VBUS will not have any power from our device, you can add the external power in this pin or not, but it will not affect our device work, because the power switch is OFF.

    Kuno

    -->

    1.VBUS(pin15,16) can use the input 5V(pin2 , 3 ) . Is it ok?

2.Whether the VBUS (pin15,16) add the external power ( use input 5V pin2,3 ) is better?

In others words, pin15,16 and pin2,3 use the power source 5V. Is it OK?

3.or, BUS must be 5 V so that the device can work normally (usually powered by an external downstream USB port).

external downstream USB port = The VBUS of USB Connector from Head unit Host side)Is it OK?

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Vincent,

Sorry to make you confused, for our device, in the client mode, we don't need this VBUS, in our data sheet, it means the external device need this 5V power, for example the U disk, because in the client mode, we don't have VBUS output, so the U disk need the external 5V to power on.

I guess we can have a short call about this, then you can understand it better, could you please send me your email address? Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno

  • Dear Sir:

    My e-mail address : vincent.lin@qisda.com

Our device in the client mode, we don't have VBUS output.  No need to add the external power in the VBUS(pin15,16)

    Is it correct?

    Thanks

  • Hi Vincent,

    Yes, you are correct.
