Hi,

We are going to change Ethernet Phy chip from 128 pin package to 64 pin package, I want to know that our selected Phy is fully compatible with existing one. old part number is DP83865 new selected Phy chip is DP83867IR.

CLK_TO_MAC, MAC_CLK_EN_STRAP, MDIX_EN_STRAP, these pins are in old Phy chip, whether we have any equivalent pin for that new chip.

For me to give a determination of whether or not the new PHY will be able to do the same settings as the old PHY, what MAC interface, link speed, and other special settings is your design using?

speed - 1000Base-T

Phy Address - 00001

In our design CLK_TO_MAC is connected to FPGA, So I want to know any similar signal is there in selected DP83867IR Phy chip.

Hi Pavithran,

As GMII is a very unique MAC interface in our portfolio, I believe DP83867's PAP version may be best equipped to fulfill your need. We do have a RGZ version which does not have GMII, so it is important to take a look at the appropriate version.

For this device, we do have a CLKOUT signal which can be configured to be 25MHz or 125MHz via registers.
