Hi,
I am using TUSB2036 to split USB connectivity into 3 USBs. I took as a refferance datasheet and "USB 2.0 EMC Stick with integrated ESD Protection and EMI Filter" [1] from Wurth Electronic to add protection filter to the input.
My problem is that sometimes it cannot be detected by the computer (Windows 11). However, once connected to the computer, it can continue without any problem even after multiple power off-on attempts.
I notice that, when it is not detected, it can be detected after reset pin has been pull down and released.
Why does it not start properly at the power on?
We have produced over 500 of these cards and this connection error worries me. I welcome all your help.
Link and HUB schematic is at below.
Kind regards

Hi Brian,
First of all, thank you for your interest.
I checked your question. When it is not detected situation crystal is not working.
But 6MHz signal appears after reset.
Thanks.
Hi Yasin:
since crystal is not working when system fails. Can you check following item?
1; adding 1uf cap on reset pin and retest.
2: When system failed, was OVERCUR goes low?
Regards
Brian
Thanks Brian.
Adding 1uF capacitor seems working.
However, I still don't understand why this capacitor is so important.
For the second question, OVERCUR pins stay 3.3V, don't go to LOW.
Kindly
Yasin
Yasin:
Big capacitor will give longer time for device reset during power on sequence.
