DS90UB925Q-Q1: RGB888 connecting only 8 pin on RED for Testing

Part Number: DS90UB925Q-Q1

Hi,

I have a general question regarding the RGB888 interface to DS90UB925Q , When I connect only the 8bit pins of Red. would this be enough to generate a picture on  DS90UB926Q  if  I have the Link and PCLK by  DE-Mode ?

kind regards
Mesut

  • Hi Mesut,

For timing, generally speaking, 926 will output HS/VS/DE signals as long as they were provided by the video source. But it doesn't necessarily require HS/VS signals to function, so it may be possible that the upstream video source is not sending HS/VS signals. For example, if the source is sending video with DE mode timing, then only the DE signal is used for generating the sync timing and HS/VS can be static low/high. For data, I believe you need all RGB 8bit to be passed through in order to work, since the PCLK will be set to the data rate for the entire RGB bits.
