TCA9548A-Q1: Query the tolerance in height of the package

Part Number: TCA9548A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9534A,

I saw some of the datasheet like pca9534a indicates the tolerance of the High in the datasheet:

I can calculate the tolerance of high by this diagram. (tolerance = 1.0-0.8=0.2 (mm)).

But in the datasheet TCA9548A-Q1,there is only the max high.

Is there any information regarding the tolerance in high for this datasheet?

Or this datasheet's tolerance is not available.

Please advise If I am wrong.

Thank you.

  • Hi Jovanni,

I don't believe we include the height tolerance for the TCA9548A-Q1. I believe the idea is that in the design phase, customers are generally not interested in the range of possible heights of the IC. They take the maximum it could be to design clearances off that parameter rather than risk designing something with the possibility that it wouldn't fit because the height tolerance of the IC wasn't taken into account.

Therefore, in order to simplify means, the datasheet includes only the maximum spec.

I think this would also make it easier for the packaging team, since it simplifies a spec that no longer needs a tolerance.

    Regards,

    Tyler
