DS90UB928Q-Q1: DS90U929EVM is used to transmit the FPD3 signal to the deserialization chip on my screen, but the screen is black and there is no display.

Part Number: DS90UB928Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

Hi team,

The customer now uses the TI DS90U929EVM development board to transmit the FPD3 signal to the deserializer chip on my screen. The data source uses the computer HDMI signal. The current progress is that the ALP shows that the data source and deserializer have been connected, and the EDID uses the internal SRAM configuration. , the computer screen adopts the extended screen mode. After the connection, the customer's computer screen is automatically set to 1280X720p, but the current problem is that the secondary screen of his computer is not displayed on the screen. Is there any problem with this setup? Is there a problem with the pattern generator configuration?

Regarding this test for customers, are there any suggestions you can give them?

  • Hi Alan,

I need more clarification on the configuration.

    • Can you clarify the configuration settings? Are you saying the configuration is set as computer-929-928-display? It's LVDS output on 928, how did it connect from 928 to display? If possible, could you share the setting diagram?
    • I don't understand how the pattern generator is configured. Is it from the computer, 929, or 928?
    • ALP's screenshot shows PCLK at 60MHz on 929 and ~64MHz on 928 but I have no idea how PCLK could be obtained. (1280*720*30*1.2 = 33MHz)
    • Can you also provide video timing? Note that the video timing between the computer screen and the other screen must match.

    Best,

    Josh
