DS90UB960-Q1: Can the UB960 deserializer handle variable frame sizes?

We'd like to use the UB960 to receive event sensor data, which does not have a fixed frame size. Is this possible?

    Hi Alex,

    This is possible. The 960 will flag a line count change in the RX port status registers, but you can choose to ignore the flag. You will need to make sure that the sensor data going into the serializer does not exceed the bandwidth limit. If the 960 is aggregating multiple sensors, make sure the output bandwidth of the 960 is greater than the sum of the input bandwidths to prevent buffer overflow errors.
