SN65DSI83-Q1: SN65DSI84-Q1 switch to SN65DSI83-Q1，if the software is need to be changed？

Hi team，

My customer is planning to switch from SN65DSI84 to SN65DSI83-Q1. My understanding is that the hardware is P2P. Does the software need to be modified?

    Hey Alan,

    It is important to note that the SN65DSI84 has a dual link LVDS output, and the SN65DSI83-Q1 only had a single link LVDS output. Because of these hardware differences not all SN65DSI84 software will translate to the SN65DSI83-Q1. If you have only been using the channel A output on the SN65DSI84, then the software should translate, but if both channel A and channel B on the SN65DSI84 have been in use the software will need to be modified to translate to the SN65DSI83-Q1.
