With an 8-bit bus number, there can be up to 256 buses. Each XIO3130 uses up four.

In practice, timing constraints limit the total length to about 50 cm.

No, this is not supported.

This would not be a valid point-to-point connection according to the PCIe specifications. There is no separate test mode.
