Hello,

I have opened a case number CS1991702 where it was asked to send my request to E2E.

I have a question regarding the LVDS transceiver. In your product offer, we can find a 1.8V LVDS receiver but no driver and no transceiver in 1.8V. Is there any justification for that?

To be noticed, I have already seen the technical note and the reference of SN65LDS4, but no driver in 1.8LDS is proposed.

If you have a solution for a 1.8V LVDS driver or transceiver, I will be interested.

Hello Hassan,

Unfortunately we do not have any 1.8V LVDS driver or transceiver device. As you mentioned above, we do have the SN65LVDS4 and DS90LVRA2 both LVDS receivers at 1.8V.

Our solution at the moment is to level shift from 1.8V to 3.3V. We have an app note (SNLA307) that talks about this.

An LVDS output is required to be a 3.5 mA constant current source. I guess it is not reasonably possible to construct it with a supply lower than 2.5 V.

An LVDS receiver works like a comparator. So it is possible to connect a 1.8 V logic signal directly to the IN+ input of an LVDS buffer like the DS90LV001 or DS10BR150, with a reference voltage of 0.9 V connected to IN−. This still requires a 3.3 V supply.

Hello Hassan,

As Clemens mentioned, there are a few constraints in designing a 1.8V LVDS driver. TI may release one in the future but as of right now we only have 2 LVDS devices with 1.8V capability.
