TCAN1145-Q1: What is the function of "May time"?

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hi teams,

In the specification book of Tcan1145, does the "may time" marked have any function? I think it would be more reasonable to just mark out a minimum time of tWK_WIDTH_MIN. To avoid raising questions from customers. For example, can the pulse width fall within the "may" time interval? What is the probability of successfully waking up within the "may" time interval?

Thanks!

  • Guohai,

All timing specs in devices like TCAN1145-Q1 have some amount of tolerance between devices. These regions indicate the real-world region where a device "may" or "might" detect a WAKE pulse due to variation in process/voltage/temperature. This means that a WAKE pulse falling in the region you circled would be detected by some devices, but not all of them. The way to ensure a WAKE pulse is detected is to design such that the pulse falls between tWK_WIDTH_MIN and tWK_WIDTH_MAX.

    Best,

    Danny
