TMUXHS4212: RSVD pin connections: VCC or leave open?

Part Number: TMUXHS4212

TMUXHS4212 pins 1 and 10 are reserved pins (RSVD1 and RSVD2, respectively).

Data sheet (SLASEP7A) Table 5-1. Pin Functions states for pins 1 and 10: Reserved pins. Connect both pins to VCC

However, data sheet (SLASEP7A) Figure 11-1. TMUXHS4212 Layout Example shows the two reserved pins as NC (left open).

The schematic checklist (SLLA552 – MARCH 2021) and EVM user guide (SLAU823 – October 2019) also both show the reserved pins as NC (Leave open).

Should the reserved pins be connected to VCC or left open?

  • Hi Shady,

You want to connect these pins to VCC. When these are left NC, the MUX will enter TI test mode by switching the SEL pin 13 times.

The datasheet and schematic checklist should be updated to reflect this, I will work towards making that change.

    Best,

    Shane
