Hello,

Starting with the SerDes-pair 'DS90UB949A-Q1 to DS90UB948-Q1', I have understood that I need to use the full (dual channel) OpenLDI-interface from DS90UB948 (6 data-pairs and 2 clock-pairs) to get 1920x1200@60Hz.

I have only found a way to create TMDS from OpenLDI by using DS90CF386 and then ADV7511. But the problem is that DS90CF386 only have one channel OpenLDI input interface which limits my output frequency to 96MHz pixel clock. And by my calculations I will need to be north of 152MHz.

Is there another LVDS-to-Parallel converter that can handle dual channel OpenLDI? Maybe also a TMDS-converter that can handle whatever IC you suggest? I am open to suggestions.

Hi André,

Unfortunately we do not have a LVDS-Parallel converter that is dual OLDI with PLCK support that high. We have one option, DS90CF388A, that has PCLK support up to 112MHz.

Okay, do you:

a) have anything that can input dual OpenLDI and convert it to something else than parallel?

b) Do you have a SerDes-pair that serializes TMDS/HDMI into single link and deserializes into something else rather than OpenLDI?

c) Or perhaps something that can convert TMDS/HDMI before serializing into single link?

Actually, now when I inspected the datasheet of DS90UB948-Q1closer on page 42. I see that I can configure the IC for "2-lane FPD-Link III Input, Single Link OpenLDI Output".

Is there any converter that supports my needed pixel frequency from single OpenLDI to parallel or anything else?

Hi Andre,

In this case the limitation is still the PCLK frequency. There may be a solution converting directly from a DES output to HDMI using only one converter instead of two, but these solutions are protected by NDA. Please reach out to your local TI sales representative.

Hi Andre,

Actually there is another less complicated solution I believe. We often use this Westar board to convert from OLDI to DVI. DVI is the same protocol as HDMI so you can passively convert from DVI to HDMI:
