I am looking for a USB-C to SPI interface IC (single channel). Need to support both PD and data on the same channel. Either a single IC or a two-part IC solution if cost makes sense. Any recommendations?

Hi,
Can you clarify a little further what you are trying to accomplish? Are you trying to convert SPI to Type-C? Or are you trying to control a USB-C controller via SPI commands? Maybe sharing a block diagram will help us understand.
Our USB-C PD controllers can all be configured via I2C instead of SPI, which may be an alternate method of accomplishing what you are looking for. Please let us know a few more details so we can assist you properly.
Thanks,
Matt
I thought I replied a couple of days ago! Somehow I don't see my reply now.
We have a dev board that we would like to connect to a host PC/laptop using a single USB interface. The USB interface needs to provide power to the board and send/receive data from the board using SPI protocol (communicating with components on the board other than the USB-C-2-SPI interface IC) in addition to, most likely, JTAG commands. If all these functions can fit in a single IC that would be ideal, otherwise, we are open to using two part solution if it makes sense.
Thanks,
HL
Hi HL,
Our PD controllers can control power and data across that comes across the Type-C cable, however we do not have an IC in our portfolio that can convert USB to SPI data directly. I will pass this thread over to another group at TI who may be able to help you convert the USB data to SPI directly.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi HL,
Our group does not have a USB to SPI protocol converter in our product portfolio.
Thanks
