LMH1218: Problem with CDR lock at 5.94Gbps using LMH1218EVM

Will LMH1218 lock on non-video pattern at same 6G datarate (such as 5.94 PRBS23 instead of 6G video pattern)?

Signal is detected and is 200mVppk PRBS23 pattern at input to LMH1218.

Hi Charles,

Yes LMH1218 should be able to lock at 6G non-video pattern such as PRBS23.

It is possible we could be over-equalizing the incoming data. Please use LMH1218 GUI to control the part. GUI allows us to use different CTLE settings.

Got lock. Problem was resolved by setting CDR input mux to input1 using GUI.
