DS560DF810: Power saving mode

Hello TI

I am using the DS560DF810 MUX for CPRI applications. When no QSFP-DD is connected to my front panel port I wish to turn of the DS560DF810 MUX and save some power. Is this possible? I was thinking via some I2C register configuration.

Hi Sohail,

The DS560DF810 does not have a "shutdown" or low power "standby" functionality. However, you can disable device channels that are not in use in order to help with power savings.

Is there a specific power target you are trying to meet?

I am not trying to meet a specific power target. I just wish to save power where I can.

Could you please provide me the settings to disable the unused channels?

How are you configuring the retimer? Are you using C API or raw macro writes?

I have access to the SM bus of the retimer. So yes, the raw macro writes. Am i correct?

I can provide details on which macros will need to be called early next week.

I'd also like to note that we recommend configuring this retimer using the C API in a system. This can be found on the mysecure page.

Please use the RX Disable (0x4E) macro and associated sequence. These are in the programming guide on mysecure.
