Below pasted proposed clock routing in our Board FYR.

This question is about DS160PT801. We have SI5518 in our Board, and wanted to connect the HCSL clock from Si5518 to DS160PT801 RFCLK input.Below is the question

1.Is clock propagation delay(PCB) from SI5518 to DS160PT801 will effect the performance ?

2.If yes, Can we tune/adjust this delay in DS160PT801?

Hi Prashanth,

1) This can be highly dependent on design. If the REFCLK input is within PCIe specification, it is OK.

2) Please refer to the data sheet and configuration guide for REFCLK related registers and specifications.

Yes,REFCLK input is within PCIe specification.

Connected the clock as per below picture. Hope this clock connection topology is good.

Hi Prashanth,

Yes, this is a valid REFCLK topology. Please also ensure to enable REFCLK_OUT of the DS160PT801 when configuring the device upon power-up and to follow the recommended REFCLK_OUT+/- impedance requirements outlined in data sheet Table 6-1.
