DS160PR412: Unable to recognise the device

Part Number: DS160PR412
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUXHS4412, DS160PR421,

Dear TI teams,

One of our new project are using DS160PR412 and DS160PR421 for PCIE4 MUX but found that the EQ could not be adjusted. Only in the EQ INDEX = 0,1,12,13,15, there is a PCIE3 X1 speed (the cable is a 1.5 metres of PCIE4 OCULINK cable), other cases can not identify the device. We also found that PCIE4 functions properly when using the TMUXHS4412 which have no redriver function (with a short OCULINK cable). Can you help to analyse the cause of the problem?

The below is the schematic:

Thanks,

Best Regards

  • Hi Lumina,

I noticed that the RSVD pins for the both the PR412 and PR421 have a 1K to GND connection if I am understanding the schematic correctly. These are TI test pins that should not be connected, otherwise there may be negative effects on device operation. Are they floating on the real board? If not, they should be corrected and the system can be retested.

    Best,

    Evan Su
