DS160PT801: DS160PT801

Part Number: DS160PT801

Hi TI Experts,

We are using single DS160PT801 and planning to use below Seders line . Width pin is pulled down using  20Kohm for  2 x4 Independent Links.

A_PERp0:3/A_PERn0:3 ,A_PETp0:3/A_PETn0:3   B_PERp0:3/B_PERn0:3 and  B_PETp0:3/B_PETn0:3 (These lines are used in our design)

Please find the block diagram below FYR.

Questions:

1.Is this configuration is good to go?

2.A_PERp4:7/A_PERn4:7 ,A_PETp4:7/A_PETn0:3   B_PERp4:7/B_PERn4:7 and  B_PETp4:7/B_PETn4:7 are not connected (NC). Can we leave this pins as open or NC?

3.Is it possible to receiver loop-back of individual lanes in below configuration?

  • Hi Prashanth,

1.Is this configuration is good to go?

    Yes, it should be fine.

2.A_PERp4:7/A_PERn4:7 ,A_PETp4:7/A_PETn0:3   B_PERp4:7/B_PERn4:7 and  B_PETp4:7/B_PETn4:7 are not connected (NC). Can we leave this pins as open or NC?

The ideal case is to terminate unused high-speed pins with an AC coupling capacitor and a 50 Ohm connection to GND, but if this is difficult, then the easiest option is to leave them NC.

3.Is it possible to receiver loop-back of individual lanes in below configuration?

I believe this is possible through at least an external loopback method negotiated through the endpoint and root complex. I am checking with my team for confirmation and will try to get back to you soon. In case I will need to explain confidential device information, I have sent you an E2E friend request to open the private message function.

    Best,

    Evan Su

  • Hi,

Please help me on "Receiver loop-back of individual lanes"

    Thanks and Regards,

    Prashanth Pai B

  • Hi Prashanth,

The device allows for local Port loopback, specified in the configuration guide section 5.2.36. However, the device does not allow for individual lane loopback configuration.

    Best,
    David
