TCAN4550-Q1: Interface forum

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN4550

Hi Expert,

TCAN4550-Q1 passive wake-up failure occurs on buleteeth.

  1. Customer software won't let TCAN4550 into Standby mode. However, when we read the status, the TCAN4550 is on Standby mode.
  2. nINT pin voltage is high and nWAKE stay low, making MCU cannot  capture wake-up signal. TCAN 4550 cannot wakeup.
  3. When we read the register,0x0800 = 0xc8000460,MODE_SEL = 0x01: Standby.
  4. Some error is shown below

Would you mind helping me to solve the wake-up failure?

Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Imelda,

I'm sorry I don't understand what the problem is.  It appears the device has woken up and is in Standby Mode, but you also said the software wouldn't allow this.

Are you telling me that the TCAN4550 should NOT have woken up and it should still be in sleep mode?

The CANERR bit is the logical OR of the CAN Silent (CANSLNT) and CAN Stuck Dominant (CANDOM) bits.  This means that when CANERR is set to '1' that there has not been any messages transmitted on the CAN Bus and it is "silent" which may be an error or the CAN bus is stuck in a Dominant State which is also an error that would prevent CAN communication.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
