DS90UH949A-Q1EVM: Need to know Mating connector part number for HSD and SMA connector

Part Number: DS90UH949A-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UH949A-Q1

HI TI Team,

I am using TI EVM DS90UH949A-Q1. I need to know the mating part number for HSD connector D4S20G-400A5- Z available on boad. Also need to know mating part number of SMA connector( 142-0701-851 )available on board . I need to make cable arrangement.

  • Hi Manoj,

Just to clarify, you are asking for the cabling connector types to use with the EVM's D4S20G-400A5-Z connectors?

The standard cabling that is typically used is 636-3 STQ D4S20F-40MA5-Z, please check with vendor Rosenberger for the use and availability of these parts.

Also, you need the recommended cabling options for the 142-0701-851 connector found on our EVM?

    Best,

    Miguel

  • Any online source for suggested Rosenberger cable ( 636-3 STQ D4S20F-40MA5-Z), Also link for this cable showing pictures and detail will help. Please provide online buying sourceslink like mouser/digikey if possible

Yes we need cable option which would help for 142-0701-851 connector.. We need both option of one to one cable (SMA to SMA plug) and also SMA to loose wire as at other end we need to have Rosen Berger connector.

Also one clarification i need is SMA  connector impendence is 50 Ohm  while LVDS impedance requirement is 100 ohm.

so how connection from SMA connector will work, it is like two SMA connector connection will make for 100 ohm LVDS connection.

We suggest contacting Rosenberger for the purchase/ordering of cabling, but as long as you select a type-Z universal connector it should interface with the connectors on our board. Important distinction to make for the HSD connector is Standard Twisted Pair, as the HSD connections are differential.

Yes we need cable option which would help for 142-0701-851 connector.. We need both option of one to one cable (SMA to SMA plug) and also SMA to loose wire as at other end we need to have Rosen Berger connector.

Standard off-the-shelf female-to-female SMA cables are recommended, although there is no specified part number associated with our EVMs for this option. Same with the Rosenberger cabling.

Also one clarification i need is SMA  connector impendence is 50 Ohm  while LVDS impedance requirement is 100 ohm.

Correct, SMA connections should be terminated at 50-Ohm impedances, and the LVDS are differential should be met with 100-Ohm impedances as well.

so how connection from SMA connector will work, it is like two SMA connector connection will make for 100 ohm LVDS connection.

Here is a diagram from the Datasheet:

    I hope this helps!
