DP83867IR: 1000BASE-T compliance test

Hi all,

My customer is concerned that there may be a problem in normal operation if the output amplitude changes only in test mode.

Is there any problem in normal operation even if we set it to 0x1d5 register and test of test mode1 it?

Hi Ryusuke,

It isn't a problem because it passes compliance, that is what the standard should be. When the DP83867 was being developed, they wanted the part to be more power efficient, so the VOD on the MDI line was lower. However this lower swing doesn't pass compliance, so the register was included. The functionality of the part will not change, regardless of Register 0x1D5's setting.
