HD3SS3411-Q1: PCIe Hot-Plugging System: Integration of Mechanical Relay and HD3SS3411 Multiplexer

Part Number: HD3SS3411-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS3411

Hello,

Good day!

We have a system that connects to an endpoint via PCIe Express, featuring a mechanical relay for ON/OFF functionality. This system can be considered hot-pluggable. In order to prevent issues related to hot-switching with the mechanical relay, we have incorporated a Multiplexer, specifically the HD3SS3411, as illustrated in the attached block diagram. The primary function of the mechanical relay is to conduct DC measurements on the TX+ and TX- pins of the DUT alongside other instruments. Therefore, we need to consider whether the switching of this mechanical relay could pose any issues for the Mux/Demux IC (HD3SS3411)? When not in use, we will ensure that the multiplexer is disconnected/shutdown mode.

Thanks

Akhilesh
