What is the main function of marked PHY1_RX1588 and PHY1_TX1588 lines ? In custom board, can I connect these pins to any GPIO pin of AM3358 ?

Hello,

The primary use case of RX_D5,6 are for GMII MAC interface. They are also used for bootstrapping the PHY for Force MDI/X, Duplex, auto-MDIx enable, and RGMII enable.

Thanks for the reply. Can I connect these pins to any GPIO of the processor ? Is there any special input type for these signals ?

Hello,

These are typically CMOS level output pins. I would recommend seeing what capabilities the processor has and understand if GMII can be connected to it.
