Hi expert,

Referring to USB specfication Rev2.0 "7.1.1 USB Driver Characteristics", The USB port can withstand voltages from -1.0 to 4.6V.

In the other hand, Referring to TUSB212 datasheet "6.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings", Absolute Maximum Ratings of DxP, DxM voltage is defined from -0.3V to 3.8V.

If TUSB212 receives waveform with undershoot of -1.0V or overshoot of 4.6V, Will TUSB212 be damaged?

Hello,

For the TUSB212, we have only tested the device within the ranged listed in the Absolute Maximum Ratings section. Going outside of that may result in unreliable device performance, or may damage the device.

TI cannot guarantee proper device performance past these voltage ranges.
