SN65DSI84: Mulfuction at high temperature failing the initialization on the I2C bus

Part Number: SN65DSI84

Hi Team,

customer is experiencing the following problem:

We are experiencing defects with the Texas instrument SN65DSI84ZXHR component. (MIPI DSI Bridge to LVDS)

The component is designed to operate at temperatures of 85°C.

The component after switching on at a temperature of approximately 70 °C has malfunctions failing the initialization on the I2C bus.

The error occurs only at the first power-up and it is not possible to resume the component.

Only by turning off the board, can the correct functioning be restored.

If the temperature is lower than 60°C the component behaves correctly.

We didn't find a lot match, but we do see the problem on boards assembled in Q4 at 50% of the pieces.

We ask for your immediate response, do you have any reports of such an issue?

Removing the malfunctioning device from the board and changing it with a known good one solved the issue, moving it to a working board was not possible due to destruction of the device during de soldering.

How do you suggest to proceed?

Thank you,

Riccardo
