Hello Expert,

I am new to this serializer functional safety test.  What is the right approach to perform the safety test and what need to be cross checked / monitored during this test.  Please guide here. 

do we need any additional tool to perform Diagnostic and line fault detection ?

    Hi Bala,

    We do not have a set guide for system-level safety testing since this varies from system to system. It is up to the system implementer to determine what the safety requirements of the specific system are. We can provide functional safety documentation such as FIT and other information. You can request these documents through your local TI sales support representative.  

    All of the FPD-Link devices can help achieve system-level ASIL-B requirements, and you can implement the various features of the device (such as diagnostics, temperature/ voltage sensors and error reporting, etc.) to help achieve it. You can refer to the datasheet sections for more information on implementation. Some relevant sections in the 935 include: 7.3.1.6 CSI-2 Errors and Detection, 7.3.4 Serializer Status and Monitoring, and 7.3.6 GPIO Support.
