DS160PT801X16EVM: DS160PT801

Part Number: DS160PT801X16EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS160PT801

Hi TI team,

Test Target:

PCIe device SI test with TI DS160PT801X16EVM PCIe riser card board.

Compliance load (base) board sends a 100 MHz signal for about 1 ms to PCIe device’s receiver, to cycle the PCIe device to the desired link speed and de-emphasis level.

Test Question:

With TI DS160PT801X16EVM PCIe riser card board, How to makes PCIe device under test link speed and de-emphasis level can cycle among  “Gen1 -3.5db -> Gen2 -3.5db -> Gen2 -6db -> Gen3 preset0 -> Gen3 preset1 -> ……..Gen3 preset10 -> Gen1 -3.5db”???

Current test result:

1). With TI DS160PT801X16EVM PCIe riser card board, the PCIe device under test link speed and de-emphasis level can NOT change. It is a unexpected result.

2). Without TI DS160PT801X16EVM PCIe riser card board, the PCIe device under test can cycle among “Gen1 -3.5db -> Gen2 -3.5db -> Gen2 -6db -> Gen3 preset0 -> Gen3 preset1 -> ……..Gen3 preset10 -> Gen1 -3.5db”, it is a expected result.

  • Hi Rayne,

    Thank you for reaching out about your issue with PCIe compliance testing. I noticed that your account doesn't have access to the additional documentation supporting DS160PT801, which can be requested here. Please note that this is a secure resources folder and information contained in this folder should not be posted publicly on E2E or shared.

    There is some additional documentation in the secure resources folder. The DS160PT801 Configuration Guide provides some clarity into the registers for configuring compliance mode. There is also an EEPROM image supporting compliance mode available.

    Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions regarding accessing these documents. For further technical questions on documentation contained in the secure folder, please reach out to me via private E2E message.

    Best,
    David
