Hi TI expert
As this serializer is QM but can support to ASIL-B functionality, so that how to guarantee the serializer was disabled once the PDB was pulled low? is there any other indication from serializer?
Thank you
BR

Hi Weicheng,
Thanks for reaching out with this question. Do you have background on the larger system which you are designing? Any applicable system block diagram / schematic would be helpful here. Based on the system we can take a look and recommend a method to verify that the erializer is disabled.
Best,
Thomas
Hi Thomas
Basically, this serializer will output the safety related graphics from host SoC, and the safe state requires black screen, Can the serialzier guarantee to disable output video stream once PDB was low to meet ASIL-B requirements?
thanks

it is clear to me that TI can provide the safety documentation to support ASIL-B system, but now it is not clear that if the reset/PDB can still support ASIL-B target.
Hi Weicheng,
Thanks for the clarification here. In ADAS systems when the PDB pin is pulled low, one method which can be used to confirm the serializer is inactive is measuring the lock status of the deserializer. Do you know which specific deserializer is used in this application?

Thomas
Hi Thomas
Thanks for your quick response, can we assure this method meet ASIL-B requirements? as the safe state is required ASIL-B.

Hi Weicheng,
Thanks for your follow up. Is there a TI field apps engineer who you are working with on this case? There is some more detailed functional safety information which we can share over email.
Best,
Thomas
Hi Thomas
Yes, I have FAE to ask,and function safety document as well, but I didnot find the answer, thus come 2 here ask expert for help, would you pls help to provide the hints? thanks!

Hi Weicheng,
Could you have FAE send me a message? I will coordinate with them as some of this info cannot be shared in public forum.
