DP83869HM: 100M mode operation.

Dear team, 

My customer would like to split their application to 1G/100M/10M and 100M/10M mode due to cost reduction. 

They want to use same schematic and They only want to change the magnetic and RJ45 connector. 

1. Is it available to use  the DP83869HM and the 100M dedicated connector(2 pair, 4 line)?

2. If they are using DP83869HM as only 100M/10M mode, Do they only need to connect port A and B to the RJ45 connection?

3. If yes, How do I handle the C and D port? floating is ok or not? 

Please let me know your opinion regarding above customer questions.

    Hi Dino,

    Correct me if my understanding is wrong. Customer want to use DP83869PHY in 100mbps application.

    If so, we do think is possible to use only 2 channels when using 100mbps application for DP83869 PHY. Other pins could be left floating.

    Customer want to use DP83869PHY in 100mbps and 10mbps application also. so they also need auto negotiation process. Is it available when using only 2 channels? 

    If yes, Can they use A and B port only? Is there another configuration setting they need to do to use A and B channels like strap or register setting?

    Hi Dino,

    If customer is using only two channels for 100mbps application. Make sure to de-advertise 1Gbps either in software or strapping application. After de-advertisement, Port A and B only should be fine.
