DS90UB960-Q1: Modify camera side register from des to ser by I2C

Hi team,

The block is as below:

As I know that we can send i2c to camera side from des to ser by I2C. Since customer would like to use I2C to modify the PMIC's register which is at camera side from des to ser. is it working? do we need to enable any register at des/ser?

Hi Jimmy,

Yes, this configuration is possible. To enable this ability, two approaches can be taken.

The first approach is to enable I2C pass through for all transactions in register 0x58[7]. This will pass all I2C transactions received by the 960 I2C port through the link and output via all serializer I2C ports linked to the 960.

The second approach is to set up RX port specific target addresses and aliases in register 0x5D-0x6C. By enabling I2C pass through in register 0x58[6], the UB960 will only pass through I2C transactions if the address matches to known target addresses and aliases.
