TCAN4550: NMEA2000 support in TCAN4550

Hi Sir,

 We see there's NMEA200 application suupport in TCAN4550 datasheet. We want to make sure if that is NMEA 2000? If yes, is there application note about NMEA2000 for TCAN4550? Thanks for your kindly help.

    Hi Gary,

    The TCAN4550 datasheet simply mentions other system level standards that are "based" on the ISO 11898 CAN Standard including the NMEA 2000.  These system level standards have made various specification trade offs to system level performance specifications in the ISO11898 Standard such as maximum data rate, cable length, etc. 

    The TCAN4550 adheres to the ISO11898 Specification and there are no application notes or direct support with regards to NMEA 2000.  Because that is a system level specification any known trade offs between the NMEA 2000 and ISO 11898 Standards should be applicable.
