DS15BR400: DS15BR400 Input Termination

Hi Nasser, I asked about DS15BR400 and not DS25BR400. I see that in the datasheet DS15BR401 doesn't have input termination, but there is no description about different packages have different terminations. Could you advise? Thanks!

Sorry but I don't understand what you are trying to explain. This is what I see in the datasheet (Page 8):

"The DS15BR400 has integrated termination resistors on both the input and outputs. The inputs have a 100Ω resistor across the differential pair, placing the receiver termination as close as possible to the input stage of the device. The LVDS outputs also contain an integrated 100Ω ohm termination resistor, this resistor is used to minimize the output return loss and does not take the place of the 100 ohm termination at the inputs to the receiving device. The integrated terminations improve signal integrity and decrease the external component count resulting in space savings. The DS15BR401 has 100Ω output terminations only."

Same concept is shown in Fig. 1 and Fig 2.

However, in the evaluation board in the link below (you can see the link on top as well) external input terminations are used.

Hi Nasser,

Yes. I am referring to input termination. DS15BR401 and DS15BR400 both come in WQFN and TQFP packages, which implies that input termination could be a feature of either package. However, simply examining the pinout on page 8 of the DS15BR400EVK user manual doesn't conclusively indicate that it's DS15BR401 and not DS15BR400. So your suggestion is that DS15BR400 mentioned on page 8 of DS15BR400EVK user manual should actually be identified as DS15BR401, Correct?
