    Hello,

    Yes, you will need an HDCP adopter license in order to use the UH devices. If HDCP is not a requirement for the system design, the DS90UB928Q device is an alternate version of the device that does not support HDCP and thus, does not require an HDCP adopter license.

    hi Nickolas,

    You menioned about to use this part need HDCP adapter license. How about the CM which helpping the end cust to build the end product. Can they buy it on behalf of end cust?

    Poh, 

    According to the DCP licensing agreement which can be found publicly online, distribution of HDCP components from a reseller should only be done to licensed HDCP adopters. So if the intent is for a CM with HDCP license to purchase components, and then distribute to another customer, then technically that end customer should also have an HDCP license. However for more questions on this matter, I suggest to discuss directly with the CM. From the TI side, we only sell HDCP devices to end customers which have an active HDCP license
