SN65LVDS3487 vs dslvds1001

Hi,

I am Stuck in a issue where i used dslvds1001 in place of SN65LVDS3487, because of which the counter reciever stopped responding

Can you please guide me on what is the difference between both ? as per datasheet both are LVDS drivers, my rcvr hardware is an FPGA lvds rcvr

i have two hardware assemblies interfaced to a fpga board, one uses SN65LVDS3487 and other dslvds1001

the counter part hardware i buyed responds to the commands sent via hardware consisting of SN65LVDS3487 but not dslvds1001

Kindly help if anything can be done.

  • Both devices should output valid LVDS signals.

Is there a different when you look at their outputs with an oscilloscope?

  • Shyam,

What is the max datarate you are operating at?

Do you have a schematic we could look at?

Do you have scopeshots of the LVDS3487 and the LVDS1001 devices?

Looking at the two devices, they have the standard LVDS outputs you would expect. Major difference I see is the  LVDS1001 has a better typical signal rate vs. transmission distance. "better" in this case, may have slightly faster slew rates which could have a little more overshoots/undershoots though I'm not expecting this to necessarily be a big concern. It may help more if we could review some scopeshots to see if anything is wrong with it.
