Part Number: TRS3243E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRS3243,

Hi

Could you help check below the TRS3243 schematic and any need to adjust ,Thanks

  • Hi Gareth,

So nothing looks wrong with the schematic - it should work as shown; however, I do have a couple comments.

    1. You have the /FORCEOFF, FORCEON, and /INVALID are all pulled up through a resistor.

1a) If you have no other signals going here the device will always be on.

1b) If you are not using /INVALID you can leave it floating - it is an output.

1c) If you want to use auto-power down mode hold FORCEON low and /FORCEOFF as high.

    2. The capacitors to ground on the COM lines will reduce performance and effective bus difference. We spec our max speed at a capacitive load of 1000pF (including cabling) - so using 100pF caps will go against the total capacitance budget for the RS-232 bus. You can use these but that is the tradeoff.

Beyond that I don't have any other comments - it looks okay!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
