DS320PR1601RSCEVM: GEN 5.0 REDRIVER

Part Number: DS320PR1601RSCEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS548B22

Hi,

a. In DS320PR1601RSCEVM BOM, C16, C19, C21, C24, C27, C11, C14,C3, C6, C9 are specified as 4.7uF but in actual design file these are 0.1uF.

b.  In DS320PR1601RSCEVM BOM,C59 is specified as 100nF but in actual design it is 1pF.

kindly provide the correct value of above said components.

Thanks and Regards,

Shekha Shoukath

  • Hi Sheka,

Did you retrieve the "actual design file" from My Secure Resources? If I remember correctly, the BOM was updated after the the initial EVM design was complete to make certain capacitor values larger.

    a. In DS320PR1601RSCEVM BOM, C16, C19, C21, C24, C27, C11, C14,C3, C6, C9 are specified as 4.7uF but in actual design file these are 0.1uF.

I believe 4.7 uF is the intended value but either should work.

    b.  In DS320PR1601RSCEVM BOM,C59 is specified as 100nF but in actual design it is 1pF.

I will investigate this further because these values are different by a factor of 100,000x.

    Best,

    Evan Su

  • Hi Sheka,

C59 is a capacitor shunted between the BOOT and SW pins on the TPS548B22 buck converter. The TPS548B22 datasheet says the following:

0.1 uF = 100 nF, so that should be the correct value.
